Amada Senior Care Central Massachusetts
Paul Hillsburg and Helena Ferreira are the owners of Amada Senior Care Central Massachusetts, and they are proud to have earned a reputation for providing the highest quality of senior care to their neighbors in Westfield, Springfield, Ludlow, Northampton, Amherst, Holyoke, Chicopee, Agawam, and nearby communities.
At Amada Central Massachusetts, our mission is to care for our senior clients with the same level of respect and compassion we would expect for our own loved ones. This may sound simple, but few senior care agencies provide the type of personalized care and attention each Amada client receives on a daily basis.
We go beyond the typical home-care aide services like meal preparation and housekeeping, because to us, it’s simply not enough to keep our senior clients safe and comfortable. Amada caregivers seek to provide true companionship to our clients and to enrich their lives in the ways that are most meaningful to them. To do this, we get to know each client’s unique needs, preferences, and personality so that we can bring a little something special to their days.
As a result of our own personal and professional experiences, we at Amada Central Massachusetts know that entering the world of senior care can be overwhelming for our clients’ loved ones. There are so many important decisions to be made, and it can be difficult to know where to turn for guidance and direction. We hope to provide the advice and support each of our families needs to feel confident in their loved one’s care and at peace with all of their senior care choices.
If there comes a time when home is no longer the best environment for a senior, we provide our senior housing advisory services free of charge because we want to see each of our clients thrive. We can also help your family take advantage of resources and programs that may make it easier to afford the care your loved one deserves.
We do all of these things and more because once you’re a member of our Amada family, we treat you like one of our own.

I cannot thank enough and praise Paul Hillsburg and his company, Amada Senior Care any more highly. My family is so very grateful for the expert care Amada provides on a daily basis to my Dad who is recovering from hip replacement surgery. Paul personally got to know my Dad and my family and then expertly matched him with very experienced caregivers. The Amada team became deeply involved with my Dad's needs in order for him to have the best chance of getting better. Amada's team stayed on top of my Dad and made sure to keep us abreast of any concerns. Paul and the caregivers are very friendly, caring, expert professionals who always act in the best interests of my Dad while respecting the wishes of my family. You can confidently put your trust and faith in Paul and know that they will do the best job possible for your parents. Amada has surpassed my family's expectations with helping my Dad. Thank You Paul and Amada!
Thank you Patrick for the opportunity to work with your family and help your dad. Our mission is to enrich the lives of our clients, their families, our staff and the senior community in which we serve. Our goal is to set the standard of care in our industry by creating an innovative and customized senior care experience.
My mother is in an assisted living at Armbrook Village in Westfield. While there, she had a need for additional support. Paul Hillsburg and his Amada staff came to her rescue. They were there at a critical juncture, and have been nurturing her back to good health. I use the term nurturing because of the excellence demonstrated throughout. Communications, reliability, and staff knowledge led to my mom's recovery. I would without reservation highly recommend this organization if you are seeking assistance with your loved one. My family is very grateful for their efforts!
Amata Senior Care was recommended to us by my Father in Law's visiting hospice nurse. We have been very satisfied with their level of care and understanding the needs of both the client and the family. Outstanding communication from the beginning and we would highly recommend Amata Senior Care.
Thank you Scott! Charlie is such a pleasure to care for and you and Linda certainly are special people for all you do. On behalf of AMADA Senior Care and our staff we thank you for the kind words and the opportunity to work with you. We love what we do!
Senior Housing Advising
At Amada Central Massachusetts, we have been helping seniors and their families find the ideal assisted living environment for their unique needs for years. Despite our extensive experience, however, we’ve never lost sight of how overwhelming the pursuit of senior housing is for most families. This is why we offer our senior housing advisory services free of charge: because we can help make the transition to assisted living a positive experience for seniors and their loved ones.
There are a number of excellent senior housing options in the Central Mass area, and each type of senior community offers different benefits and levels of care. Seniors who enjoy an active or social lifestyle may prefer an independent living or assisted living community, while individuals who require significant help with ADLs and access to complex medical services might do better in nursing home or skilled nursing facility.
In addition to identifying the senior community that will provide the level of physical care and support a senior needs, we feel it’s just as important to find the place that will best meet his or her emotional needs. Factors such as the size of a community, location, physical environment, social opportunities, and activities are key to a senior’s enjoyment of his or her new home. With our insight into the senior communities throughout Central Massachusetts, we can guide families to the place that will provide the most fulfilling life for a senior loved one.
Of course, we realize that cost is also a very influential factor in every family’s hunt for the right senior housing option. Fortunately, we have made it our business to become experts in all avenues of senior care funding at Amada Central Massachusetts. Once we help you take advantage of resources like long-term care insurance, veterans’ benefits, and even life insurance, we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how affordable your community of choice can be.
Whatever your senior housing needs and preferences are, we at Amada can refer you to the ideal place, such as:
- Assisted living communities
- Large and small communities
- Independent living communities
- Board and care homes
- Adult family homes
- Senior care homes
- Skilled nursing facilities
- Alzheimer/dementia communities
Home Care Technology
By combining our deep knowledge of the needs of seniors and their families with the very latest technology, Amada has created a revolutionary senior care option: remote care through our BeClose monitoring system.
BeClose isn’t a single product, but rather a complete home monitoring system each family can customize according to their unique needs. Our BeClose devices, including indoor and outdoor cameras, automated door locks, medication monitors, and even button-free fall and emergency alerts, are all designed to work together and sync to a secure mobile app. This allows seniors to live independently at home, while their loved ones are able to receive real-time updates on their activities and safety. And because we realize that senior care needs can change quickly, BeClose also notifies families of any changes in a senior’s routines or behavior that may be signs that it’s time for a little more support.
When you are concerned for a loved one’s safety and well-being, you simply want to be close. Now, thanks to BeClose by Amada, you can—no matter where you go.

Veterans Assistance Programs
Many of our veterans, their spouses, and their families may not be aware of their potential eligibility for financial assistance from the government. At Amada Senior Care Central Massachusetts, we have observed that many veterans and their families are not aware of all of the resources available to help them pay for senior care. For example, the VA Aid and Attendance benefit provides monthly financial assistance to wartime veterans and surviving spouses who need help with activities of daily living. To learn more about this and other benefits for veterans, we encourage you to Click here for a Free Veteran’s Care Needs Consultation.
Who is Eligible for Aid and Attendance?
- Eligible veterans must have served at least 90 days’ active duty, with at least one day served during a time of war.
- Dishonorable discharge renders veterans ineligible for this benefit.
- Aid and Attendance benefits are specifically for individuals who need help with activities of daily living from another person.
- These ADLs may include mobility, bathing, meal preparation, housekeeping, eating, and more.
- Qualified applicants currently spend most of their income on care.
- The percentage of income currently spent on care will determine benefits allowance, up to a set maximum.
- The VA will determine an acceptable threshold for applicants’ assets.
- This limit is based, in part, on age and financial need.
VA benefits may allow for increased flexibility in a senior’s plan of care or make it possible to move to the assisted living community of choice. These benefits are:
- Paid monthly by the United States Treasury.
- Tax free.
- Paid in addition to military pensions.
