Amada Senior Care Central Pennsylvania
Louis Castriota is the proud owner of Amada Senior Care Central Pennsylvania, and he runs his organization with his partner and Director Victoria Lamas. Louis and Victoria believe that by providing the highest quality of senior care they are not only helping clients and their families, they are contributing to a stronger community as a whole. Louis, Victoria, and their team at Amada are dedicated to supporting their neighbors in Lancaster, York, Harrisburg, Lebanon and the surrounding areas through all aspects of senior care.
In addition to their desire to strengthen their community, Victoria says she and Louis are also motivated by their own senior care experiences to make sure each family has the support they need when it’s time to investigate senior care. Victoria says, “Just a few years ago my father suffered a very serious fall and we didn’t know what the outcome would be but we knew it was possible we’d need to find him some type of care at home. My mother, my siblings, and I didn’t even know where to start looking for the best care possible. We didn’t even really know what we needed.”
Now, Victoria sees the same worry and frustration in the eyes of families she works with at Amada in Central Pennsylvania. “So many families find themselves in the same situation, when a parent or grandparent suddenly needs to be taken care of,” she says. “They don’t know where to start, what their options are, or how to go about finding the answers to all of their questions.”
“That’s what Amada is here for. We’re here to help you start the process, find out what is best for your loved one and for you, and help you explore all of the options available to you. For us, it’s about supporting one another and creating a strong sense of community.”
At Amada Central Pennsylvania, our mission is to provide the right senior care solution for each family’s unique situation. For some families, that means matching them with the home-care aide who can assist a senior with activities of daily living and enrich their lives with compassionate and personalized attention. For some seniors, living at home is no longer the best option, so we work with those families to find the best assisted living community for their loved one. And for most of the families we work with here at Amada, the cost of senior care is a major concern. We are experts at helping clients and their families explore resources like long-term care insurance, veterans’ benefits, and even life insurance policies to help make senior care more affordable.
Whatever your family’s senior care needs are, the family at Amada Central Pennsylvania is here to guide and support you.

Senior Housing Advising
When it becomes apparent that home is no longer the best place for a senior loved one to live, many families struggle to find the right assisted living environment to meet their needs. At Amada Central Pennsylvania, we know from personal experience how daunting it is to try to find the best care for a loved one. Now, we use the knowledge we have gained to guide other families with our free senior housing advisory services.
The three key factors we encourage families to focus on when investigating senior housing options are their loved one’s physical, emotional, and financial needs. There are many care communities to choose from in Central Pennsylvania, and we have found that the best way to narrow the field is to first evaluate the level of care a senior will require. This will direct us to the type of community best suited to their needs. For example, seniors who require significant help with activities of daily living or ready access to complex medical services may be best served in a nursing home or skilled nursing facility. On the other hand, we might recommend an assisted living environment for seniors who are able to lead more active and independent lives.
Once we know what type of care community will best meet a senior’s physical needs, we can eliminate more options by considering which places are most likely to meet his or her emotional needs. Because we have established working relationships with most of the care communities in this area, your Amada adviser can direct you to the placement most likely to satisfy your family’s needs and preferences, such as location, activities and hobbies, and even the size of the community where your loved one will be most comfortable.
We realize that cost is often a primary concern for seniors and their families who are considering the transition to assisted living. Fortunately for our clients, we at Amada are experts at showing clients the many non-traditional payment options available to them, including long-term care insurance, veterans’ benefits, life insurance, and others. We are confident that we can help you find—and afford—the very best place for your loved one.
At Amada Central Pennsylvania, we specialize in referring clients and their families to the right senior housing facility or community, and can help you explore options such as:
- Assisted living communities
- Large and small communities
- Independent living communities
- Board and care homes
- Adult family homes
- Senior care homes
- Skilled nursing facilities
- Alzheimer/dementia communities
“BeClose” through Home Care Technology
Our goal at Amada is to provide the right senior care solution for each family’s unique needs. To do this, we sometimes need to create an entirely new option, such as our BeClose home monitoring system.
BeClose combines our knowledge of senior care needs with state-of-the-art-technology that allows families to keep a “virtual eye” on senior loved ones from anywhere in the world. This is a unique senior care option for families who worry about a senior who is determined to remain independent at home. Families pay for only the BeClose products that will meet their needs, choosing from devices such as automated door locks and thermostats, indoor/outdoor security cameras, button-free alerts for falls and other emergencies, and even medication monitors. These devices are installed in the senior’s home by our team so that they don’t interfere with a senior’s routine, and they all sync to a mobile app. Family members are able to log on to the BeClose app at any time, from anywhere, to make sure their beloved senior is safe. Through BeClose, we are also able to notify families if there is a marked change in a senior’s behavior or routines that needs to be addressed.
With the BeClose home monitoring system from Amada, seniors are able to maintain their independence for longer. If you’d like to learn more about our state-of-the-art BeClose monitoring system, Click Here for a Free Consultation with a Member of the Amada Team.
Veterans Assistance Programs
So many families who are new to Amada are surprised by the many resources we can direct them to to help make care more affordable. This is especially true of our clients who are veterans, as there are many government programs and VA benefits that provide financial aid for senior care, such as the VA Aid and Attendance benefit. Aid and Attendance provides monthly compensation for wartime veterans and surviving spouses who need to pay for help with ADLs. For more information about Aid and Attendance and other benefits for veterans, please Click here for a Free Veteran’s Care Needs Consultation.
Key Points of Aid and Attendance Eligibility:
- To qualify, a veteran must have served a minimum of 90 days’ active duty, with at least one of those days served during a time of war.
- Veterans with a dishonorable discharge are disqualified from receiving this benefit.
- Applicant must need help with activities of daily living from another person.
- ADLs vary case-by-case, but may include mobility/ambulation, transportation, meal preparation, bathing, and more.

- Benefits are awarded in relation to the percentage of income spent on care.
- Applicant’s assets must be below a limit set by the VA.

Many Amada clients have been able to receive significant financial assistance to pay for care through the VA Aid and Attendance program. This benefit is:

- Tax free.
