At Amada Senior Care, we understand why many of our senior want to keep living independently at home, and we also understand that their families may no longer consider this a viable option because they have safety concerns. This often feels like a situation where no one truly wins, but we have developed the ideal solution that gives seniors independence and their loved ones peace of mind.

The BeClose home monitoring system by Amada consists of a variety of devices and products designed to keep seniors safe. Families only pay for the products they need, such as indoor and outdoor security cameras, medication monitors, automated door locks, and instant alerts for potential emergencies such as fires, falls, or intruders. Financial Assistance for Veterans

 
 

Many of our clients who are veterans struggle with the cost of care because they have not been informed of the government programs in place specifically to provide financial assistance for senior care. We at Amada Senior Care Northern Utah are happy to help veterans and their families investigate all of their options, such as the VA Aid and Attendance benefit to pay for help with activities of daily living. VA Aid and Attendance Eligibility:

1. Military Service
  • To be eligible, applicants must have served a minimum of 90 days’ active duty, with at least one day served in wartime. Surviving spouses of qualified veterans are also eligible.
  • Veterans with a dishonorable discharge are not eligible.
2. Personal Care Needs
  • Claimants must need assistance from another person with activities of daily living.
  • ADLs may include walking, bathing and hygiene, toileting, and eating.
3. Income
  • Claimants must currently spend most of their income on care.
  • Benefits are determined, up to a maximum, by the percentage of income spent on care.
4. Assets
  • Claimants’ assets must below a limit set by the VA.
  • Age and financial need are key factors in this limit.
Other Facts on Aid and Attendance:

VA Aid and Attendance benefits are paid in addition to veterans’ pensions and can help them achieve a higher level of care or move to the community of their choice. These benefits are also:

  • Never paid back as long as claimant is eligible.
  • Tax free.
  • Paid directly to claimants every month by the US Treasury.
