Amada Senior Care Tri-Cities
April Gosney, Owner of Amada Senior Care Tri-Cities, is motivated to provide the best care for seniors and unwavering support for their families as a result of unfortunate experiences in their own lives. Because April, and their own family felt so alone in their search for quality senior care, they are now determined to guide their neighbors in Kennewick, Richland, Pasco, Yakima, Walla Walla, and throughout the Columbia Basin area to the ideal solutions for their senior loved ones.
April recalls, “When my husband’s grandmother developed dementia, our family tried to provide all of the care she needed and deserved. Unfortunately, we all had our own families and work obligations, and we realized we would need help to make sure she was safe and content. We didn’t understand all of our options or know where to turn. Ultimately, the decision we made was not the best for her. We felt a lot of guilt and a lot of frustration as a result.”
“Now, we want to help families so they don’t have to go through what we did. It is our mission to help families in our community understand all of their senior care options and find the best fit for their loved ones.”
At Amada Tri-Cities, we strive to offer comprehensive senior care options so that we can provide the right solution for each family’s unique needs. Many of the seniors we serve wish to remain living in their homes but require assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as meal preparation, bathing, and transportation. Our home-care aides provide these services and so much more with a personal touch, because we truly want to enrich clients’ lives on a daily basis. Not only does this help seniors enjoy this time of life and age with dignity, but it also allows their loved ones to spend more quality time with them instead of taking on caregiver roles.
If in-home care is not appropriate for a senior or family, we will help them explore all senior housing options in the Tri-Cities area until we find the very best place for their loved one. We also offer remote care and home monitoring options to help families feel confident that their beloved senior is safe at home, as well as detailed senior care financial counseling. We at Amada never want families to feel that they need to compromise a senior’s care because of financial concerns, so we help them explore all non-traditional payment options such as long-term care insurance, veterans’ benefits, and even life insurance policies.
As April says, “Whatever form of care you need, we’re here to provide you with the best care possible.”

Senior Housing Advising
While many people in the Tri-Cities area may think of Amada as a home-care agency, that’s only part of what we do. Our job is to make sure that every senior we work with receives the best possible care for his or her unique situation. Accordingly, when home is no longer the ideal environment for a senior, we help that senior and his or her loved ones find the senior housing placement that will meet all of their physical, emotional, and financial needs.
There are so many fantastic senior housing options in this area that it can be difficult for families to know where to begin their search. Fortunately, we have extensive personal and professional experience in this field and we know which questions to ask so that we can guide you to the right fit.
First, it’s important to honestly evaluate the level of care a senior will need, because this will influence the type of senior housing community we focus our search on. A nursing home or skilled nursing environment will provide a higher level of care and assistance with ADLs, and will also offer more complex medical services. On the other end of the senior housing spectrum, independent living communities provide just what their name implies: independence. These communities are more suitable for seniors who require little to no assistance and are able to live more active lifestyles.
Once we determine which type of senior housing will meet a client’s care requirements, we then evaluate factors that will impact the senior and family on a more emotional level. Since we at Amada have relationships with nearly every senior housing community in the Tri-Cities and Columbia Basin areas, we have unique insight into each place that families just won’t see during the typical introductory tour. We’re certain we can guide you and your family to the place with the location, social life, activities, and setting to help a beloved senior thrive.
So many of the families we work with at Amada have concerns that they won’t be able to afford the senior housing community of their choice. However, we are experts at finding every last resource and benefit available to help a family pay for care, including long-term care insurance, veterans’ benefits, and even life insurance policies. We’ll help you find the best way to pay for the best care.
Whether a senior is looking for a life with fewer responsibilities surrounded by his or her peers, or a family seeks a place where they know their senior loved one will be safe, happy, and comfortable, Amada will help them find it. We provide referrals to all types of residential and care communities, including:
- Assisted living communities
- Large and small communities
- Independent living communities
- Board and care homes
- Adult family homes
- Senior care homes
- Skilled nursing facilities
- Alzheimer/dementia communities
Home Care Technology
At Amada Senior Care Tri-Cities, we believe that there is an ideal solution for every family’s unique senior care needs. One such solution, introduced by Amada to revolutionize senior care, is our BeClose home monitoring system.
We like to refer to BeClose as a remote care system, because it allows families to keep a “virtual eye” on seniors from anywhere in the world. Families are able to choose from a range of products and devices designed specifically for our senior care purposes, including indoor and outdoor security cameras, medication monitors, button-free alarms for falls or other emergencies, and even automated door locks and thermostats. All devices are installed by our Amada technicians and sync to a secure mobile app which allows families to see real-time updates on their loved one’s activities and well-being. BeClose will also notify families if a change in a senior’s routine or behavior reflects a possible need for additional care or supervision.
BeClose is a great option for families who worry about a senior who is determined to remain living independently at home, or families who simply need some assurance that a beloved senior is safe. To learn more about BeClose, Click Here for a Free Consultation with a Member of the Amada Team.
Veterans Assistance Programs
So many of the veterans and families of veterans we have had the pleasure to work with at Amada Tri-Cities are not aware of all of the programs and benefits in place to make it easier for them to afford the best care. One program that has been helpful to many of our clients is the VA Aid and Attendance benefit. Aid and Attendance provides monthly financial assistance for wartime veterans and surviving spouses who need to pay for help with activities of daily living. To learn more about this and other forms of financial support you may be eligible for, please Click here for a Free Veteran’s Care Needs Consultation.
Are You Eligible for Aid and Attendance?
- To be deemed a wartime veteran, an individual must have served at least 90 days’ active duty, with at least one of those days served during a time of war.
- Veterans with dishonorable discharge do not qualify for this program.
- Claimants must currently need assistance with activities of daily living from another person.
- ADLs vary, and may include mobility/ambulation, meal preparation, bathing, and others.
- Qualified applicants currently spend the majority of their income on care.
- Benefits are awarded relative to the percentage of income spent on care.

- Age and financial need are key factors in the determination of this limit.
