Amada Wichita's caregivers were great with my mother. They were compassionate, they listened, and they did everything she needed with a great attitude. Working with Asa and his company is truly something I'll never forget. Thanks for being as kind as you all were.
The Wichita, KS office worked tirelessly to ensure that my mother's long term care insurance claim was approved.
They have been absolutely wonderful to work with at every level. I would not have been able to get my long term care insurance claim approved if it was not for Amada!
Senior Housing Advising
At Amada Wichita, we realize that in-home care may not be enough to meet the needs of some seniors and that our clients may one day need to consider transitioning to an environment where they can get a little more support.
We also realize that the prospect of moving to an assisted living or senior care community may be intimidating to our clients and their loved ones on a number of levels.
The transition to a care community may be new to you, but we have years of experience helping seniors find the ideal living situations to meet their needs in Prairie Village, Butler County, Newton, Hutchinson, and other neighborhoods in this area. We encourage our clients to rely on our in-depth knowledge so they can feel confident that they have found theright place for their lifestyles.
When considering a care community or assisted living, it is crucial that we honestly evaluate the unique needs and preferences of each client. Some seniors may do best in a nursing home where more complex medical care is available, while others may benefit most from an assisted living community where they can live more independently and still get help with basic activities of daily living.
Many seniors and their families hesitate to consider transitioning to a care community because they are worried about costs. At Amada, we never want financial concerns to prevent our clients from enjoying safe and happy lives. We always provide our placement services for no cost, and our advisers can help families take full advantage of resources like long-term care insurance and veterans’ programs to help them fit superior care into their budgets.
Our goal is to ensure that each of our clients is safe and happy, whether this is accomplished through in-home care or referral to the most suitable place for this stage of their lives, which may include
- Assisted living communities
- Large and small communities
- Independent living communities
- Board and care homes
- Adult family homes
- Senior care homes
- Skilled nursing facilities
- Alzheimer/dementia communities

Veterans Assistance Programs
A large number of our clients in the Wichita area have served our nation as veterans or as the spouses of veterans, and many of them don’t realize that they may be entitled to significant financial assistance through the VA Aid and Attendance program. Aid and Attendance is specifically for wartime veterans and their surviving spouses who require assistance with activities of daily living. The veterans’ advocates at Amada can help you or your loved one take full advantage of this program and other resources so that the best care is within your reach.
Factors Determining Aid and Eligibility Eligibility:
- To qualify for these VA benefits, a veteran or veteran spouse must have served at least one day during wartime and at least 90 days total active duty.
- Veterans with a dishonorable discharge are excluded.
- Eligible applicants must require assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) from another person.
- ADLs may include finance management, bathing, walking, hygiene, and others.
- Eligible applicants must spend most of their current income on care and assistance with ADLs.
- The amount of financial assistance granted depends on the applicant’s care requirements and income.
- The applicant’s assets must not exceed an amount determined by the VA.
- This threshold is determined by the applicant’s age and financial need.
Through VA Aid and Attendance benefits, seniors have increased financial flexibility regarding their care plans and potential assisted living placement. Aid and Attendance is:
- Paid monthly and no repayment is necessary
- Paid directly to claimants by the United States Treasury.
