Amada Senior Care Austin
Patrick Murphy, owner of Amada Senior Care Austin, has had recent senior care experiences in his own family that have reaffirmed his commitment to providing the highest quality of care for his clients in our community, including Cedar Park, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Georgetown, Dripping Springs, Marble Falls, and beyond.
Patrick says, “Just recently in my life, we had our first bout with Mom’s dementia. She was driving in her car, and she called my sister and brother-in-law, crying. She didn’t know where she was in her hometown—an area that should have been very familiar to her. My sister and brother-in-law had to go get her.
“So, our family ‘circled the wagons.’ We figured, ‘We’ve got to do something for Mom.’ My sister, Mary Ellen, took Mom into her home, and we quickly noticed that their relationship declined from the mother/daughter relationship they had always cherished. We realized that it would probably be best for Mom if we moved her to an assisted living home, so that she and Mary Ellen could go back to that loving relationship. So, that’s what the Murphy family did.”
“This was a really big learning experience for my family, and it made me realize that there are so many other people who struggle with this and need good care. At Amada South Austin, this is what we provide.”
At Amada Senior Care Austin, our home-care aides do whatever they can to help seniors feel more comfortable and independent in their own homes. This means that in addition to helping with activities of daily living, we seek out meaningful ways to enrich clients’ lives on a daily basis.
If your family is in a similar situation to the Murphy family, and a home-care environment is no longer ideal for a senior loved one, we will help you find the best place in the Austin area to meet all of your physical, emotional, and financial needs. We’ll even help you find the best way to pay for the senior care your loved one deserves, because, as Patrick says, “We treat you and your family like you are one of our own.”

Encompass Home Health
Patrick and his team at Amada Senior Care are outstanding! They are compassionate and truly care about the client’s they care for on a daily basis. Highly reputable and highly recommended home care company!!!
Amanda came to the rescue when my Dad with dementia was hospitalized. Daddy could not be left alone and needed someone to advocate for him 24/7. While my family rallied to provide care during the day time hours, it was just too much to cover the overnight hours. I called Amanda in the early afternoon the day he was admitted and ask them to provide a care giver that night by 10:00 o’clock – the team came through for my family. Amanda provided a care giver every night while my Dad was hospitalized – even when plans for his discharge changed several times. Thank you, Amanda.
Senior Housing Advising
At Amada Senior Care Austin, we understand that the transition from home to an assisted living environment can be difficult for seniors as well as for their loved ones. We are committed to guiding you and your family through this process with compassion and wisdom so that you can all feel confident you’ve made the right decision.
When you are looking for the right care community for a senior you love, it’s understandable that your first concern will be his or her physical well-being. There are many different senior housing options in the Austin area, from independent living communities that foster active social lives for residents, to nursing homes where residents receive a higher level of help with activities of daily living and also have access to more complex medical services. We will help you honestly evaluate your loved one’s care needs so that you can find the most suitable level of care for them.
Finding the right senior housing option isn’t only about making sure a senior is safe and well-cared for. We all want our loved ones to feel comfortable, content, and fulfilled, so it’s important that we guide you to the community that will be the best fit for a senior’s personal needs and preferences. For example, would Grandma prefer a large, diverse community, or something smaller and more intimate? Are there location requirements to meet, such as proximity to family members? What kind of activities and hobbies does Dad enjoy?
Since we have worked with seniors and their families in Austin for years, we have seen what day-to-day life in each of the senior communities in this area is really like. This insight enables us to guide you to the ideal new home for your loved one’s unique situation and personality.
At Amada, we can also help families determine the best way to pay for senior housing. Many of our clients have found substantial financial support through programs and resources such as long-term care insurance, veterans’ benefits, and even life insurance policies. Before you rule out any senior living options based solely on budgetary concerns, let us make sure you’ve taken advantage of every bit of assistance you are entitled to.

Home Care Technology: “BeClose”
Senior care options haven’t changed much over the years, and most families assume their choices are still limited to in-home care, moving a senior into a family member’s home, or moving them to an assisted living facility. So many of the families we have worked with say that none of these options is ideal for their situations or budgets, which is why Amada is so proud to introduce a new choice: remote care with our BeClose home monitoring technology.
BeClose is ideal for seniors who wish to remain independent at home and also for the families that worry about them. This system consists of a range of products that don’t interfere with a senior’s daily activities but reassure their loved ones of their safety, such as indoor and outdoor cameras, button-free emergency alarms, and even medication monitors. Families have access to real-time updates through our secure mobile app, and are even notified if we detect a potentially serious change in a senior’s routine or behavioral patterns.
Essentially, BeClose allows families to keep a loving eye on seniors from anywhere in the world as the seniors maintain as much independence as possible.

Veterans Assistance Programs
If you or your senior loved one is a veteran, are you certain you have made use of all government benefits designed to help you pay for senior care? At Amada Austin, we have worked with many seniors who didn’t realize they were entitled to benefits like VA Aid and Attendance. This benefit is specifically for wartime veterans and surviving spouses who need to pay for help with activities of daily living. For more information on this and other senior care benefits for veterans, please Click here for a Free Veteran’s Care Needs Consultation.
Who is Eligible for Aid and Attendance Benefits?
- To qualify for this VA benefit, a veteran must have served a minimum of 90 days’ active duty. At least one of these days must have been served during wartime.
- Qualified veterans must not have been dishonorably discharged.
- Claimants must currently require help with ADLs from another person.
- ADLs (activities of daily living) may include bathing, walking, eating, medication reminders, and more.
- Applicant must currently spend the majority of his or her income on care expenses.
- The amount of income spent on care is used to determine the amount of financial assistance awarded.
- The VA will determine an acceptable maximum limit for applicants’ assets.
- Age and financial need are key factors in the determination of this threshold.
VA Aid and Attendance benefits are only one of many government programs in place to ensure that our veterans and their families have access to high-quality care. These benefits are:
- Paid in addition to military pensions.
- Sent directly to the claimant every month.
- Not required to be paid back as long as claimant is eligible.
- Tax free.
