Amada was the 3rd agency we worked with to find care for our 91 year old mom. We did not have good experiences with the other 2 agencies because they were not at all adept in helping us with our LTC carrier. Furthermore, the caregivers were not as competent or professional as those from Amada have been. From the time I contacted John @ Amada, we knew we were in good hands. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, very responsive. How is Aid and Attendance Eligibility Determined?
1. Military Service
- A minimum of 90 days of active duty, with at least one of those days during wartime.
- Must not have been dishonorably discharged.
2. Personal Care Needs
- Applicant must currently require assistance with activities of daily living, such as walking, eating, using the toilet, or dressing.
3. Income
- The majority of the applicant’s income must currently be spent on care expenses.
- The percentage of the income currently spent on care will determine the benefits received.
4. Assets
- The VA will determine an acceptable threshold for each applicant’s assets.
- The determination of financial assets will depend on age and financial need.
