Jean says, “A year-and-a-half ago, my mother was diagnosed with cancer and at the same time my grandmother was diagnosed with dementia. Anjelo, I need to be paid for 5/1/18-5/15/18 & 5/16/18-5/25/18. You also owe me over 100 hour's for sid. Your check for payroll 5/1/18-5/15/18 got returned and after many phone calls and messages you have been avoiding me. I'm going to file in court if I'm not paid immediately what you owe me for working for your company.

My 88 year old mother with severe arthritic conditions finally reached a point where she's unable to lift herself from her favorite chair. It's a difficult time for her and our family. My job transferred me from Virginia to California in a matter of 2 months. I spoke with several companies that offered the type of services that Amada provides. Do to the overwhelming demand to pack your family and belongings in a two month period, we had to leave mom behind with my aunt until we were settled in our new place. I contacted Amada in Davis, Ca to make arrangements for my mother upon her arrival. The gentlemen that helped me recommended that Amada in Virgina send a caregiver to spend time with mom prior to her coming to California. Assistance for Senior Veterans


There are a number of government programs designed to help aging veterans cover the cost of senior care, and we at Amada East Bay can help you learn about all of them. Key Factors for Aid and Attendance Eligibility:

1. Military Service
  • To be eligible for Aid and Attendance benefits, a veteran must have served at least 90 days’ active duty with at least one day served during a time of war.
  • Veterans with dishonorable discharges are not eligible.
2. Personal Care Needs
  • Applicants must be in current need of assistance with ADLs from another person.
  • Daily living activities may include hygiene, food preparation and eating, walking, and others.
3. Income
  • Claimant must spend the majority of his or her income on care.
  • Up to a national maximum, the amount of benefits a claimant receives is determined by the percentage of income spent on care.
4. Assets
  • The claimant’s assets must not exceed a limit determined by the VA.
  • This limit takes into account age and financial need.
