Jeanine Nestor,
and her partner, Dave Zansitis, owners of Amada Senior Care Indian River County, both have professional and personal experience caring for seniors in their homes. Jeanine is a Registered Nurse who spent years as a Visiting Nurse. While working as a Visiting Nurse, she developed a passion for ensuring seniors maintain a high quality of life while aging in place in their own homes in a safe, healthy and nurturing environment.

Jeanine, who assisted both her parents through hospice, continues to see the benefits of a caregiver for her grandmother. Dave is trained as a Respiratory Therapist and has experience in managing patients with a broad range of DME (durable medical equipment) and clinical needs related to respiratory and wound care management. He has helped several family members, including his parents, stay at home and navigated the health care system when being at home was no longer an option for them.

We have learned through our professional and personal experience there is no “one size fits all’ when it comes to senior care. We do personal on-site visits with the client and family to develop a customized care plan. As a Certified Senior Advisor, Jeanine will help identify solutions to meet the client’s physical, emotional and financial needs. If being at home is no longer an option, Jeanine and Dave will help identify and find assisted living options that fit the client’s unique needs and preferences.

Senior Housing Advising

When seniors or their loved ones begin to feel that they require more support than in-home care and assistance with basic ADLs, it may be time to consider transitioning to an assisted living community. This is an emotional decision for everyone involved, and our goal at Amada Indian River County is to guide families through the placement process with wisdom, empathy, and competence.

For some seniors, an assisted living community, typically offering non-complex medical services, may be a good fit. Others may require a bit more support and may be better served in a nursing home or different type of care community.

The team at Amada Senior Care Indian River County has years of experience with senior care in Vero Beach, Sebastian, and other nearby communities. As a result, we have deep knowledge of all local care communities and can make sure our clients find the ideal placement to suit their care needs, locations, lifestyles, and budgets.

We also rely on our extensive experience to help our clients make full use of all benefits available to them, including veterans’ benefits and long-term care insurance benefits. The costs of assisted living may intimidate many families, but we can help them make financial decisions with confidence. To further ease cost concerns, the Amada Indian River County team is pleased to offer our placement services free of charge.

When in-home care is no longer ideal for our clients, we are honored to guide them through this next phase. Our specialty is referring seniors to the right community or placement for them, which may include:

  • Assisted living communities
  • Large and small communities
  • Independent living communities
  • Board and care homes
  • Adult family homes
  • Senior care homes
  • Skilled nursing facilities
  • Alzheimer/dementia communities

Home Care Technology

Many families who find themselves at odds with a senior loved one’s desire to remain as independent as possible don’t realize that there can be a middle-ground between constant supervision and simply hoping for the best. However, at Amada Senior Care Indian River County, we have developed a system called BeClose which makes use of the latest technology to help seniors maintain independence while reassuring their loved ones of their safety. The BeClose system is fully customizable and allows families to keep an eye on seniors through strategically-placed and non-intrusive monitors which then report to their emails or mobile devices. This way, seniors can go about their lives in peace and their families will be notified of any routine changes that may signal a need for extra support.

Amada is widely considered the industry’s first agency to build an online portal system called Transparent to help busy families keep in touch. With a personal ID and password, registered family members can log on, day and night, and see exactly what duties our staff has performed.
