Senior Housing Advising
At Amada Senior Care Los Angeles, it is our goal to guide our clients and their families to the very best senior care solution for their unique needs. When home care becomes inadequate, we will work with you or your loved one to find a solution where you can find the care you need.
Many of the seniors are hesitant to explore senior housing options due to their reputation for being an “old folk’s home.” This is not always the case. Many of the senior communities in the Greater Los Angeles area are vibrant, social, and can be very enjoyable.
That said, it is very important that we find the right senior housing option for each client’s particular situation, and the first factor we evaluate is their care needs. Seniors who are able to live relatively independent and active lives are likely to be happiest in an assisted living community, while seniors who require more help with ADLs and medical attention will probably be more comfortable in a nursing home or skilled nursing setting.
Once we have decided what type of senior housing will best meet a client’s care needs, we then consider factors that will impact his or her happiness and quality of life. For example, would Grandma prefer to live near the water, or is her preferred setting more rural? What kinds of activities does Dad enjoy, and how does he like to socialize? Is there a particular location that will work best for the family? Because we have worked with so many of the senior housing communities in this area, we are very well qualified to guide seniors to the new home that will be most satisfying to them.
Of course, many families have concerns about paying for senior housing, and we understand this. Fortunately for our clients, we at Amada are experts at helping families find the best ways to pay for senior care. We can help you explore non-traditional payment options like long-term care insurance, veteran’s benefits, and even life insurance so that you will feel confident you can afford the very best care.
At Amada Los Angeles, we are committed to guiding each family through finding and transitioning to the senior housing environment that’s best for them. We provide referrals to every type of senior and care community, including:
- Assisted living communities
- Large and small communities
- Independent living communities
- Board and care homes
- Adult family homes
- Senior care homes
- Skilled nursing facilities
- Alzheimer/dementia communities
“BeClose” through Home Care Technology
At Amada, we specialize in finding the senior care solution that is just right for each family we work with. In some cases, this may involve an option families hadn’t previously considered or weren’t even aware of. One such option is our BeClose home monitoring system, which allows to remotely care for and watch over senior loved ones who wish to live at home.
We developed BeClose by working with the leading developers of home monitoring products to customize each device in the BeClose line specifically for use in senior care. Clients can choose from a range of products, including automated door locks, medication monitors, button-free fall and emergency alarms, and indoor/outdoor security cameras—paying only for the devices that they need. An Amada technician will install these devices in a senior’s home and make sure they are functioning properly, then sync the entire system to a secure mobile app. Through this app, families can see real-time updates on a senior’s activities and well-being from anywhere in the world and at any time. BeClose will also notify families of changes in a senior’s behavior or routines that may be a sign that more care is needed.
If you have a senior loved one who is set on living independently at home, BeClose can help you and your family feel confident he or she is safe and comfortable. To learn more, please Click Here for a Free Consultation with a Member of the Amada Team.
Veterans Assistance Programs
At Amada Los Angeles, we are honored to be able to help our veterans and pride ourselves on being able to help veterans afford the highest quality of care. Many families don’t know about the VA Aid and Attendance benefit, which is in place specifically to defray the cost of help with ADLs for veterans. If you think you or your loved one may benefit from this or other programs for veterans, please Contact Amada for a Free Veterans’ Care Consultation.
Who is Eligible for Aid and Attendance Benefits?

- Veterans with a dishonorable discharge do not qualify for this benefit.
- Eligible applicants must currently need help with ADLs from another person.
- ADLs (activities of daily living) may include meal preparation, mobility and ambulation, bathing, and more.
- Claimants of this benefit must currently spend most of their income on care.
