Family owned and locally operated

Amada Care Team
Greg Getchell, owner of Amada Senior Care Twin Cities, is personally invested with each client. Says Greg, “Over the course of 25 years, I have built a career in healthcare. My involvement in post-acute treatment of stroke patients opened my eyes to the critical importance of in-home care. Moreover, witnessing the aging process of my parents and extended family members has heightened my awareness of the need for quality in-home care for anyone facing physical or mental challenges. At Amada Senior Care Twin Cities, our mission is to provide you and your loved ones with the best possible senior care through our trained and compassionate caregivers.”

At Amada Twin Cities, our team is deeply committed to providing exceptional in-home care that goes beyond helping a client with basic activities of daily living like cooking and bathing. We are dedicated to enriching our clients’ lives. To do this, we invest time in building personal connections with each client allowing us to identify the most meaningful ways to brighten their days. This could mean reading aloud from Grandpa’s favorite book, helping Mom get her hair “just right,” or setting up a time for Nana to meet her grandkids at a nearby park. We recognize that bringing joy to our clients is just as important as ensuring their safety and well-being.

In addition to providing superior home care, we at Amada Twin Cities also offer financial care coordination to help our clients find the best way to pay for care, senior housing placement referrals and veterans assistance including VA Aid and Attendance and VA Contracted Homemaking Services. We are long-term care insurance care experts offering direct advocacy with carriers. We realize that every family’s journey through senior care is different, and we walk beside them every step of the way. You’ll never feel alone when you are part of the Amada Twin Cities family.

We work with clients, families and home caregivers across Twin Cities suburbs including Andover, Anoka, Blaine, Bloomington, Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Burnsville, Champlin, Coon Rapids, Crystal, Eden Prairie, Edina, Fridley, Golden Valley, Hopkins, Lino Lakes, Maple Grove, Minnetonka, New Brighton, New Hope, Osseo, Plymouth, Robbinsdale, Shoreview, St. Louis Park, Wayzata, White Bear Lake, and surrounding communities.

Greg was a huge help with my parents long term care insurance coverage

I am currently using a different care firm in the Twin Cities metro area. This current firm does not qualify for reimbursement benefits under my parents long term care insurance. Greg from Amada spent time with me to explain how it all works. I learned more in 20 minutes than I have dealing with this for the past year. He gave me a clear idea of what can be covered by insurance and what items won't be covered. He really helped me understand how to provide the best care and support for my mom, while getting the most of the cost for care covered by their insurance policy. This is really complicated stuff, and it is nice to have someone in my corner that is an expert in this area. Thank you Greg! I am in the process of switching over to Greg and Amada Senior Care for my mom.

The absolute BEST

Diane spent three days a week with our Mom. My Mom LOVED
Diane, she truly gave her quality of life, so caring. Despite
having dementia, my Mom would talk about her visits. When she couldn't remember her name she called her "Kid". This is truly a quality company. We used another one and we're not that happy with. I have recommended Amada
To others.

We were very pleased Amada Senior Care was able to provide good care for my Dad who is in the later stages of dementia. Their communication and follow up was excellent. We really appreciated the help and companionship the caregiver Jill gave my Dad. She was very attentive to his needs and had a compassionate approach. Jill was also very flexible and accommodating. We were grateful for all of your help!

Senior Housing Advising

When seniors or their loved ones begin to feel that they require more support than in-home care and assistance with basic ADLs, it may be time to consider transitioning to an assisted living community.

Senior Housing Guidance and Assistance
Senior Care Housing Options

This is an emotional decision for everyone involved, and our goal at Amada Senior Care in Twin Cities is to guide families through the placement process with wisdom, empathy and competence.

For some seniors, an assisted living community, typically offering non-complex medical services, may be a good fit. Others may require a bit more support and may be better served in a nursing home or different type of care community.

The team at Amada Senior Care Twin Cities has years of experience with senior care in Andover, Anoka, Blaine, Bloomington, Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Burnsville, Champlin, Coon Rapids, Crystal, Eden Prairie, Edina, Fridley, Golden Valley, Hopkins, Lino Lakes, Maple Grove, Minnetonka, New Brighton, New Hope, Osseo, Plymouth, Robbinsdale, Shoreview, St. Louis Park, Wayzata, White Bear Lake, and surrounding communities. As a result, we have deep knowledge of all local care communities and can make sure our clients find the ideal placement to suit their care needs, locations, lifestyles, and budgets.

We also rely on our extensive experience to help our clients make full use of all benefits available to them, including veterans’ benefits and Long-Term Care Insurance benefits. The costs of assisted living may intimidate many families, but we can help them make financial decisions with confidence. To further ease cost concerns, the Amada Twin Cities team is pleased to offer its placement services free of charge.

When in-home care is no longer ideal for our clients, we are honored to guide them through this next phase in senior living. Our specialty is referring seniors to the right community or placement for them, which may include:

  • Assisted living communities
  • Large and small communities
  • Independent living communities
  • Board and care homes
  • Adult family homes
  • Senior care homes
  • Skilled nursing facilities
  • Alzheimer/dementia communities

Veterans Assistance Programs For Minnesota

Many of our veterans, their spouses and their families may not be aware of their potential eligibility for financial assistance from the government. At Amada Senior Care Twin Cities, we are dedicated to helping individuals eligible for VA Aid and Attendance benefits and other forms of financial support take full advantage of these resources.

How is Aid and Attendance Eligibility Determined?

1. Information About Your Military Service

  • A minimum of 90 days of active duty.
  • At least one day of active military duty during wartime.
  • Must not have been dishonorably discharged from your service.

2. Personal Care Needs Requirements

  • Applicants must currently require assistance with activities of daily living, such as walking, eating, toileting, or dressing.

3. Income Review

  • Majority of applicant’s income must currently be spent on care expenses.
  • The percentage of income currently spent on care will determine the benefits they receive.

4. Asset Determination

  • The VA will determine an acceptable threshold for applicants’ assets.
  • Determination of financial assets will depend upon age and financial need.

How VA Aid and Attendance Benefits can Help You:

Through the use of VA benefits, seniors gain more financial flexibility for their care plans and potential placements. This may include:

  • More in-home care.
  • The community of their choice.
  • Benefits paid monthly with no repayment required.
  • Benefits are paid directly to claimants by the United States Treasury and are tax-free.

"Thank you, Zoe, Greg and Kay for helping me give my husband his wish in being at home. You were such a blessing. God bless you as you continue to bless other families."
