Amada Senior Care Northwest Twin Cities
Greg Getchell, owner of Amada Senior Care Northwest Twin Cities, has learned through his healthcare career as well as his personal experiences that it can be incredibly difficult to find quality in-home and senior care. He is determined to change this for his neighbors in the Northwest Twin Cities, Minnetonka, Maple Grove, Andover, White Bear Lake, Shoreview, Blaine, Plymouth, Hennepin County, Edina, and surrounding communities.
As Greg puts it, “I have built a career in healthcare over the last 19 years. More recently, my involvement in the treatment of stroke patients has opened my eyes to the need for quality in-home care. Having witnessed the aging of my parents and my wife’s parents and grandparents has also made me keenly aware that, inevitably, someday we or someone we love will be in need of home care. Through my work at Amada Senior Care Northwest Twin Cities, my mission is to provide you and your loved ones with the best possible senior care.”
To Greg and the rest of our Amada Northwest Twin Cities team, providing quality in-home care requires much more than simply helping a senior or client with basic activities of daily living like cooking and bathing. We believe it is essential that we enrich our clients’ lives on a daily basis. To do this, we get to know each client personally so that we can identify the most meaningful ways to brighten their days. This could mean reading aloud from Grandpa’s favorite book, helping Mom get her hair “just right,” or setting up a time to meet the grandkids at the neighborhood park. We seek opportunities like this because we feel that bringing our clients joy is just as important as helping them stay safe.
In addition to providing superior home-care, we at Amada Northwest Twin Cities also offer senior housing advisory and placement services, financial counseling to help our clients find the best way to pay for care, and even direct advocacy with long-term care insurance carriers. We realize that every family’s journey through senior care is different, and we walk beside them every step of the way—because you’ll never feel alone when you’re part of the Amada Northwest Twin Cities family.

I have been very happy about the care and quality of my assigned caregiver. I have not always wanted a new person in my home, but she makes it so easy to feel comfortable.
Senior Housing Advising
At Amada Senior Care Northwest Twin Cities, we provide personalized in-home care for seniors so that they can enjoy living in their homes for as long as possible. If there comes a day when living at home is no longer safe or enjoyable for a senior to live at home, we continue to support our clients and their loved ones by helping them find the ideal assisted living community to suit their unique needs.
When families begin to investigate their senior housing options, it is necessary to consider a senior loved one’s emotional needs as well as physical needs. If a senior is receiving the care he or she needs but does not feel fulfilled emotionally, he or she will not be able to thrive in assisted living. Likewise, if a senior enjoys the lifestyle of his or her new community but is not getting adequate care, the consequences could be severe.
The senior housing advisers at Amada Northwest Twin Cities have relationships with most of the care communities in this area, and we have developed in-depth knowledge about the day-to-day life seniors experience in each of them. This insight allows us to guide seniors and their families to the new home that offers the ideal balance of care and emotional fulfillment to ensure seniors are both healthy and happy.
We realize that a third key factor most families consider as they look into senior housing options is cost, and that many fear they won’t be able to afford the best environment for their senior loved one. Fortunately, we are experts at senior care financial counseling. We specialize in showing clients how to make use of long-term care insurance, veterans’ benefits, life insurance policies, and other resources to fit the highest quality of care and senior housing into their budgets.
At Amada Northwest Twin Cities, we sincerely want to help your family find the ideal senior housing option for your aging loved one. This is why we always offer our senior housing advisory services at no charge. We can provide you with referrals to all types of care communities, including:
- Assisted living communities
- Large and small communities
- Independent living communities
- Board and care homes
- Adult family homes
- Senior care homes
- Skilled nursing facilities
- Alzheimer/dementia communities
Home Care Technology
At Amada Senior Care Northwest Twin Cities, we take pride in offering a range of senior care options so that each family we work with is able to find the ideal solution for their unique needs. One option that many families are not aware of is remote care with our BeClose home monitoring system, which allows seniors to remain at home as their loved ones remain confident in their safety.
With BeClose, families are able to keep a “virtual eye” on senior loved ones as they continue to live independently at home. This system consists of a variety of home monitoring products, such as medication monitors, automated thermostats and door locks, indoor and outdoor security cameras, and even button-free alarms to call for help in the event of a fall, fire, or other emergency. Our clients are able to fully customize their BeClose systems so they pay only for the products they need, and the entire system provides real-time updates to loved ones through a secure mobile app. BeClose will even notify families of changes in a senior’s routine or behavior patterns so that they can evaluate a potential need for more care.
If you would like to learn more about how BeClose can help you feel assured of your senior loved one’s safety, no matter where you go, please contact Amada for a Free Consultation.
Veterans Assistance Programs
At Amada Northwest Twin Cities, we have made it our business to become experts at helping our clients identify the best ways to pay for senior care. We have learned that many seniors and their families are not aware of government programs and other resources that provide financial support for senior care, and this is especially true of our clients who are veterans. One program that has been especially beneficial to many of the veterans we are honored to care for is the VA Aid and Attendance benefit, which provides monthly financial assistance to wartime veterans and their surviving spouses.
