Amada Senior Care Northern Nevada
Ryan Hart, owner of Amada Senior Care Northern Nevada, has learned through personal experience how challenging it can be to find competent and compassionate caregivers. As a result, Ryan is committed to providing the best possible care to his clients and the Northern Nevada community. Ryan and the Amada Northern Nevada team have earned a reputation for providing the highest quality of care in Reno, Sparks, Washoe Lake, Crystal Bay, Carson City, and in other parts of Northern Nevada.
Ryan knows that when a loved one becomes ill or increasingly limited by age, families often struggle to find the best way to care for them. “Two years ago, both of my parents were diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease,” he said. Through the process, we learned that finding in-home care services for them was a very daunting task. It was scary. It was overwhelming. It was tough. It was a very, very frightening time for all of us. Now, I know that countless other people in and around Reno are going through a similar situation, and my team and I are dedicated to helping them in any way we can.”
At Amada Senior Care in Northern Nevada, we provide comprehensive, non-medical care to seniors so that they are able to remain in their homes and continue doing the things they love. Some of the services our home-care aides provide include help with activities of daily living such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and transportation. Ryan likes to say that one thing our caregivers are sure to provide in addition to help with ADLs is “good, old-fashioned companionship.” It’s important to us that we enrich our client’s lives every day so that they are not just safe and comfortable, but happy and thriving.
In addition to matching each senior client and family with the home-care aides who will best complement their personalities and meet their needs, Ryan and the Amada Northern Nevada team also provide senior housing advisory services, help families explore all avenues to help them pay for senior care, and offer other support to seniors and their loved ones.
Whether we are making Grandma’s favorite supper, trimming Dad’s beard just right, or simply listening to you express your concerns about your loved one, you can always be certain that your family at Amada Northern Nevada is with you through every step of your senior care journey.

I am a young caregiver with little experience and Amada welcomed me with open arms. I was able to ease into the job and they were very accommodating to my home schedule. I love the clients I was placed with and have really learned a lot. I really look forward to working with Amada more in the future.
Working for Amada has been the best experience in my life. I can honestly say the staff and caregivers I have worked with are so compassionate and caring. They have very strong values and morals. The welfare of their caregivers and clients comes before all else. It is good for a company to have strong leadership, because it trickles down to the employees and to the clients!
I am a CNA of 19 years with aged, disabled, hospice, rehab and long-term care experience. I was recruited by a former coworker to come and help Ryan with his new company. I wasn’t looking to do in-home care at the time, but am very thankful that I did. Two years later, I am still working with Amada and am the happiest I have been in years. Ryan, Carly, and all the staff are amazing to work with, and the clients are truly amazing. I’ve been given some very heavy cases and have learned so much more from these clients. Ryan is truly a great boss, coworker and friend. I would recommend Amada Northern Nevada (Reno) 100% for employment, and for care of a friend or family member.
Senior Housing Advising
When home is no longer the best place for a senior, the emotional, logistic, and financial challenges of transitioning to an assisted living environment can be overwhelming for all members of a family. At Amada Senior Care Northern Nevada, we have extensive experience working with most of the care communities in Northern Nevada and we are happy to provide our senior housing advisory services free of charge. Let us guide you through this process to make it less stressful so that you feel confident you’ve found the perfect new home for your loved one.
For the majority of the seniors we work with, the move to assisted living is prompted by an increased need for care and assistance. However, just as every senior has different needs, every type of senior housing offers different levels of care, and it’s important to find the ideal level of support for each client. Some seniors require significant help with ADLs and need access to complex medical services, and may be best served by a nursing home or skilled nursing facility. Seniors who are still able to enjoy relatively active lives may prefer an assisted or independent living community, which still offers care when needed but in a less structured environment.
Once we have helped a family determine what type of senior housing is most appropriate for a loved one, we need to help them determine which community will be most enjoyable for them. With so many options in the Reno area, it helps to narrow the search down according to some key factors, such as location, lifestyle, social opportunities, and the physical environment most appealing to each senior. Since we have working relationships with most of the senior communities in Northern Nevada, we can use our insight to guide seniors to the new home where they will be happiest and most fulfilled.
At Amada, we never want families to feel they need to compromise a loved one’s care or comfort due to financial concerns. We are experts at helping our clients take advantage of resources like long-term care insurance, veterans’ benefits, and even life insurance policies so that they can afford the quality care their loved one deserves.
Whatever your particular senior housing needs and desires are, we are confident we can direct you to the ideal place. We specialize in providing referrals to all types of senior housing in the Reno area, including:
- Assisted living communities
- Large and small communities
- Independent living communities
- Board and care homes
- Adult family homes
- Senior care homes
- Skilled nursing facilities
- Alzheimer/dementia communities
Home Care Technology to Help You “BeClose”
At Amada, we know that when a senior you love begins to show limitations due to age, you simply want to be close. We also know that these days, many families are spread across the country or even across the world, so being close doesn’t feel like an option for them. Fortunately, we’re in the business of finding the ideal senior care solution for every family, which is why we are proud to share a revolutionary new option: our BeClose home monitoring system.
BeClose allows families to remotely care for and watch over seniors who wish to remain living in their homes. Each family is able to customize their home monitoring system to meet their specific needs, choosing from products like medication monitors, automated door locks and thermostats, indoor and outdoor cameras, and even button-free alarms to notify help in the event of a fall or emergency.
Each BeClose product is designed to be discrete so that it doesn’t interfere with a senior’s environment or routine, and the entire system syncs to a secure mobile app. This allows family members to see real-time updates on a senior’s activities so that they can feel confident their loved one is safe and comfortable. And since we know that senior care needs can change quickly, BeClose will also notify families if it looks like a senior may need some extra support.
If your family has struggled to find a way to “BeClose” to a senior who prefers to live independently, Amada may have the ideal solution. To learn more, Click Here for a Free Consultation with a Member of the Amada Team.
Veterans Assistance Programs
We at Amada Northern Nevada are determined to help our clients make use of every resource available to alleviate their financial burdens. For our clients who are veterans, there are a number of government programs that may provide significant financial assistance to help pay for senior care. One such program is the VA Aid and Attendance benefit, which provides monthly funds to help wartime veterans and surviving spouses who require help with ADLs. For more information on Aid and Attendance and other benefits for veterans, please Click here for a Free Veteran’s Care Needs Consultation.
How is Aid and Attendance Eligibility Determined?
- A veteran must have served at least one day of active duty during wartime, and a minimum of 90 days’ total active duty.
- Veterans with dishonorable discharge do not qualify for Aid and Attendance.
- Claimants of this benefit must need help from another person for activities of daily living.
- ADLs vary according to the individual, but may include bathing, walking, meal preparation, and more.
- Eligible applicants currently spend most of their income on care.
- The percentage of income spent on care determines the financial assistance claimants receive, up to a set maximum.
- Claimants’ assets must total below a limit set by the VA.
- Determination of this threshold will depend upon age and financial need.
If you are a wartime veteran or surviving spouse, Aid and Attendance benefits from the VA could be a significant increase to your monthly income. These benefits are:
- Paid monthly by the US Treasury.
- In addition to military pensions.
- Not subject to repayment as long as claimant is eligible.
- Tax free.
