Amada Senior Care West Los Angeles
Andre and Cyndi Pegus are the owners of Amada Senior Care in West Los Angeles. With offices in Torrance and in Westwood, this team is proud to serve clients from throughout the South Bay Los Angeles area, including Seal Beach, Los Alamitos, Long Beach, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Carson, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, Lomita, and other nearby communities.
For Andre and Cyndi, working with Amada is about much more than caring for seniors—it is their way of making a positive contribution to our community as a whole. Andre says, “I really wanted to open a home care business because I wanted to be able to give back to people, and taking care of people is a great way to give back.”
Because Andre, Cyndi, and their team at Amada West Los Angeles are committed to creating positive impacts where they are most needed, they find cases other caregivers may look at as especially difficult to be the most rewarding. According to Andre, “I’ve found since opening this business that I really like working with hospice clients. These families couldn’t be more appreciative of the love, care, and concern we show and the ways we help their loved ones during their final days. This is something that makes us feel real, real good.”
At Amada West Los Angeles, we like to approach each case with focus on what seniors need, as opposed to what we typically offer. We realize that every senior has unique needs, preferences, and desires, and it is our goal to provide the most comprehensive senior care possible to suit each situation.
So, if we are brought in to a senior’s home as home-care aides, we seek to go beyond normal caregiver duties like assisting with meal preparation and housekeeping to truly enrich our clients’ lives. And if a client is no longer thriving or safe in a home-care environment, we will work with that senior and his or her loved ones to find the best assisted living community for them to move to—and support them through the transition process. We are also experts at helping clients find the best way to pay for senior care and can help them take advantage of long-term care insurance, veterans’ benefits, and even life insurance policies.
To us, it’s simply not enough to keep clients safe and comfortable—we want to help them thrive and enjoy every day to its fullest.

If you’re looking for West Los Angeles senior care, you can take comfort in knowing that Amada is committed to providing each family with the ideal senior care solution for their specific needs. This may mean we need to think creatively or develop strategies we have not used before, but as Andre Pegus says, “We approach senior care with a ‘what do you need’ attitude, not a ‘what do we offer’ attitude.” It is our mission to ensure that each senior we work with feels safe, comfortable, and personally fulfilled and to make sure their loved ones are constantly aware of our support.
“We’ll find the ideal senior care solution for your unique situation.”

We want to share with others the wonderful care and service we have received for my mother & father-in-law from Amada -- You all are the best!! From the beginning, Andre, Sandi & Cyndi were great getting all the details and insurance coverage in place! Our caregiver, Connie, is the absolute best -- she has gone above & beyond our expectations to care for our parents. She is very professional, discreet and caring. She keeps us informed when concerns arise. Connie has become part of the family!
I met with Andre before my surgery. He spent time with me contacting my Long Term Care Insurance company and setting up a claim. After my surgery, Chanel helped me set up my apartment for safely and to settle me in comfortably. My caregiver after that was Meagan, who is wonderful. I was able to have help when I needed it, which helped significantly with my healing.
They always have our back in whatever we need. When we call someone always answers and our concerns are always taken seriously. We have a wonderful caregiver who is invaluable to us in every way.
Thank you, Katie, we take great pride in caring for your loved one.
Senior Housing Advising
The team at Amada Senior Care West Los Angeles is dedicated to finding the perfect plan and environment for every senior we work with. So when in-home care is not ideal for a client, we work with that senior and his or her family to find the senior housing option that meets all of their physical, emotional, and financial needs.
Southern California is a highly sought-after retirement destination, which means that our clients have a vast array of senior housing options to choose from. While this may initially seem to be a benefit, many of the families we work with quickly become overwhelmed with the sheer number of choices available to them. Fortunately, we are experts in senior care, and specifically experts when it comes to assisted living in the West Los Angeles area. We will be happy to guide you through the entire process at no cost, because we truly want what’s best for you and your loved one.
The first step in the senior housing selection process is to determine what level of care a senior will require, as this will help us know what type of community to focus on. For example, if your loved one requires significant assistance with activities of daily living or needs close access to complex medical services, we’ll focus on nursing homes or skilled nursing facilities. For seniors who are able to live a more active lifestyle, we may look into assisted living or independent living communities.
Making sure a senior’s physical needs are met is only part of the senior housing selection process. After all, what good is it to be safe and healthy if you aren’t also enjoying life? We can use our in-depth knowledge of the care communities in this area to direct you and your family to the place with the ideal location, setting, activities, and social opportunities to help your beloved senior thrive.
We realize that many families consider price as the highest priority when selecting a senior housing or assisted living environment. However, we are determined that no Amada client will forego the very best care due to financial concerns. This is why we have become experts at helping the families we work with take advantage of all non-traditional funding sources available to them, such as long-term care insurance, veterans’ benefits, and even life insurance policies.
At Amada Senior Care West Los Angeles, we are confident that we can help you and your family find the ideal senior housing option for your unique situation. We specialize in senior housing placements and transition support, and can provide referrals to:
- Assisted living communities
- Large and small communities
- Independent living communities
- Board and care homes
- Adult family homes
- Senior care homes
- Skilled nursing facilities
- Alzheimer/dementia communities
Home Care Technology: “BeClose”
Some of the seniors we work with here at Amada West Los Angeles feel that they are perfectly capable of living independently in their own homes. However, the family members of these seniors often express their concerns about a loved one’s ability to stay safe and comfortable at home without anyone to watch out for them. Whether a senior’s motivation for staying at home is a desire for independence and consistency, or a concern about the cost of senior care, Amada has the right solution to please everybody.
We are pleased to offer a revolutionary senior care option: remote care with our BeClose home monitoring technology. BeClose is a full line of products from which families can choose to create their own customized home monitoring plan. We offer devices designed to help seniors stay safe and comfortable, including medication monitors, automated thermostats and door locks, security cameras, and even button-free fall and emergency alerts. Each BeClose product is designed to be discrete yet highly effective, so seniors can go about their daily routines just as they always have—with one exception: their loved ones are able to keep a “virtual eye” on them. The BeClose system syncs to a secure mobile app so families can receive real-time updates on a senior loved one and be constantly assured of their safety. BeClose can also help families identify changes in routine that may be signs of a need for additional care.

Veterans Assistance Programs
There are so many programs and benefits out there to help veterans and their loved ones pay for senior care, but we have found that many eligible seniors don’t know about all of these options. For example, the VA Aid and Attendance benefit is in place specifically to provide monthly assistance to wartime veterans and surviving spouses to pay for help with ADLs. If you would like to learn whether you or your loved one may be eligible for this or other veterans’ benefits, Click here for a Free Veteran’s Care Needs Consultation.
Key Facts on Aid and Attendance Eligibility:
- Eligible veterans must have served at least one day of active duty during wartime, and a minimum of 90 days’ active duty overall.
- Eligibility is denied to individuals with dishonorable discharge.
- Applicants must currently need help with activities of daily living from another person.
- ADLs vary for each claimant and may include bathing, ambulation, eating, meal preparation, and more.
- Eligible applicants currently spend the majority of their income on care.
- The amount of income spent on care helps the VA determine how much of this benefit is awarded.
- Claimants’ assets must be below a maximum set by the VA.
- This limit is set relative to age, financial need, and other factors.
Through VA Aid and Attendance and other programs, our clients who are veterans are afforded significant financial flexibility for their senior care. These benefits are:
- Tax free.
- Paid directly to claimants by the US Treasury.
- Paid in addition to military pensions.
