Amada Senior Care San Antonio West
Rick Stockton, owner of Amada Senior Care San Antonio West, says that his experience in healthcare sparked his desire to provide quality care to seniors in our community, including New Braunfels, Seguin, San Antonio, Kerrville, Bandera, Lake Medina, and beyond. Rick says, “I’ve been fortunate—both my parents and my wife Tracy’s parents are still living independently at home and are relatively healthy. We have had a few health-related issues in the past 12 months, but were always able to get the care our parents needed, and now they are happy to be back at home.”
“Over the course of the ten years I have spent in healthcare, I realize that not every family is as fortunate as mine has been when it comes to quality senior care. Having seen the difference high-quality care can make in a senior’s life made me realize that’s what I wanted to provide for our West San Antonio neighbors. And here at Amada Senior Care, that’s what we’re all about: we’ll do everything we can to help you or your loved one remain independently at home.”
At Amada Senior Care San Antonio West, we realize that we need to look beyond everyday tasks like cooking and light housekeeping to find meaningful ways to enrich our client’s lives. This may mean that we make a special sandwich for a client’s lunch, or rent a favorite movie for them to watch, or even help a client get in touch with an old friend. It’s thoughtful actions and gestures like these that bring smiles to our clients’ faces and brighten their days—because what good is living at home if your life there is not enjoyable and fulfilling?
When our senior clients are no longer safe or comfortable living at home, we work with families to find the best senior housing option to meet their needs in the West San Antonio area. We also help families find the best way to pay for the high-quality care their loved ones deserve.
At Amada Senior Care San Antonio West, our goal is to support our clients and their families through all aspects of senior care with compassion and wisdom. We understand how overwhelming it can feel to find the right senior care for your loved one, but with Amada Senior Care San Antonio West, you’ll always have a friend to guide you.

Senior Housing Advising
At Amada Senior Care San Antonio West, it is our mission to ensure that every senior we have the pleasure to serve is safe, comfortable, and happy. If this is no longer possible in a home-care setting, we personally work with seniors and their loved ones to find the care community that will not only meet, but exceed their expectations.
With so many excellent senior living communities in and around the West San Antonio area, we have found that the best way to narrow down a family’s options is to first consider the level of care a senior will require. This will help us know, for example, whether we should focus on an assisted living community where seniors are relatively independent, or a more supportive and medically appropriate environment, such as a nursing home.
We understand that help with activities of daily living and access to proper care is only one part of the senior living placement process: we also want to find a new home where seniors will be emotionally satisfied and feel financially secure.
Because we have years of experience in both healthcare and senior care in and around San Antonio, we have in-depth knowledge of nearly every senior living community in the area. This makes us confident that we can lead seniors to the ideal community to suit their unique situations, including their preferred location, lifestyle and activity preferences, and even the type of cuisine they enjoy most.
One of the first questions nearly every family asks us at Amada is, “How can I afford quality senior care?” Well, we at Amada are experts at helping seniors and their loved ones find the best financial answers. We will help you take advantage of resources such as veterans’ benefits, long-term care insurance, and even life insurance policies to help you pay for the quality care you or your loved one deserves.
At Amada Senior Care San Antonio West, we take a personal interest in each family we work with so that we can be certain we meet all of their senior care needs. If you are interested in learning more about senior living options, we can help you explore all types of care communities, such as:
- Assisted living communities
- Large and small communities
- Independent living communities
- Board and care homes
- Adult family homes
- Senior care homes
- Skilled nursing facilities
- Alzheimer/dementia communities
“BeClose” through Home Care Technology
Amada has developed a unique senior care solution for families are concerned about a senior loved one living alone or who aren’t yet ready for in-home care. Our revolutionary BeClose home monitoring system allows seniors to remain independent in their homes while keeping loved ones constantly assured of their safety.
BeClose is a combination of our deep knowledge of senior care needs and state-of-the-art technology. Families pay for only the products that will meet their needs, so this is often a more affordable senior care option than our clients expect it to be. With products such as automated door locks, indoor and outdoor cameras, button-free alarms to notify help in an emergency, and even medication monitors, BeClose extends the time a senior is able to live safely at home. Families receive up-to-the minute updates on their loved one through a secure mobile app, so they can literally check in on Mom or Grandpa at any time, from anywhere in the world. At Amada, we know that a senior’s needs can quickly escalate, so we have designed BeClose to notify families of potentially concerning changes in a loved one’s routine or behavior.

Veterans Assistance Programs
Many of our veterans and their surviving spouses may be eligible for significant financial assistance to help cover senior care costs, but may not even be aware of these benefits. At Amada, we’ll make sure veterans and their families know about every government program and benefit that could help them, such as VA Aid and Attendance. Aid and Attendance is a monthly benefit for wartime veterans or spouses who need to pay for help with activities of daily living. For more information on Aid and Attendance and other benefits for veterans, please Click here for a Free Veteran’s Care Needs Consultation.
How is Aid and Attendance Eligibility Determined?
- To be considered a “wartime veteran” a veteran must have served a minimum of one day of active duty during wartime and a total of 90 days’ active duty overall.
- Dishonorable discharge renders a veteran ineligible for this benefit.
- Claimants of this benefit must currently need help with activities of daily living from another person.
- These ADLs might include eating, meal preparation, medication reminders, walking, hygiene, and others.
- Eligible applicants currently spend most of their income on care.
- Benefits are awarded, up to a set maximum, in relation to the percentage of income spent on care.
- Claimants’ assets must total below a limit set by the VA.
- The VA weighs age, financial need, and other factors to determine this limit.
VA Aid and Attendance benefits may make it possible for seniors to afford additional care or to move to the assisted living community of their choice. These benefits are:
- Paid directly to claimants every month by the United States Treasury.
- Paid in addition to military pensions.
- Tax free.
